To provide students with diversified and all-round career counseling and enhance their core competitiveness in their career development, Du Jin, manager of the human resources department of the General Contracting Branch of CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., serving as the career supervisor for Class 2019-04 in School of Civil Engineering (SCE), delivered a corporate career sharing speech in Room X4137 in Xipu campus at noon on September 17.

At first, after a brief self-introduction, not only as a career supervisor, but also as a graduate of SWJTU, Mr Du expressed his expectation for all students to be active in communication during the lecture. This simple self-introduction broke the barrier and successfully bridged the gap between Mr. Du and all students. Then he stated the purpose of this meeting, to help students have a basic understanding of career planning, so as to improve their professional abilities in a targeted manner.

The sharing meeting started with a documentary about the development of CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., which showed the brilliant achievements of the company. Afterwards, all students had a better understanding of CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. after his introduction to the basic information and excellent corporate culture.

The last session of the career-sharing meeting was the Q&A session. Students, Yu Jiahe and Dun Haoyin, asked Mr. Du about “whether civil engineering students need to go to graduate school” and “what is the career destination and how is the working environment of civil engineering graduates”. Mr. Du shared his own growth experience in SWJTU and his viewpoints on career development, and provided his own informative suggestions to students. Meanwhile, he reminded all students that no matter what the future job is, everyone should hold the idea of lifelong learning. Only in this way can we continuously improve our value and become a useful talent for the enterprises as well as the society.

Through this career-sharing session, all students in class 2019-04 learned about the current employment situation for students in civil engineering and the direction they want to head for. Finally, Mr. Du encouraged the students to work hard to master professional knowledge and realize their dreams of hunting decent jobs as soon as possible.
