Pu Qian-Hui - Dean of the School of Civil Engineering

Professor Pu Qian-Hui has been engaged in the teaching and research of concrete bridges and structural engineering. He directed or participated in over 100 research projects (including ongoing projects), winning the Third Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress Award by China Railway Society. He has published more than 60 academic papers on core journals. Besides, he co-edited 1 textbook and 1 monograph, and reviewed 1 textbook. He won “Hongyu Teaching Excellence Award” in 1995 and “Lushi Outstanding Young Teachers Award” in 1996, and has also been honored as one of the young and middle-aged top-notch talents in science and technology by SWJTU. So far, 20 doctoral and over 50 master candidates have graduated under the supervision of Professor Pu Qian-Hui.

Professor Fu Hai-Ying graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Chengdu University of Science and Technology in June 1994 and obtained her master’s degree in engineering from Sichuan University in June 1997. Since 1997, she has been working in SWJTU and received her doctoral degree from SWJTU in Jan 2007.
Wang Ming-Nian - Deputy Dean of the School of Civil Engineering

Professor Wang Ming-Nian has been awarded several honorary titles,like Leading Academic and Technological Scholar,Excellent Expert with Outstanding Contributions and Doctoral Degree Holder with Outstanding Contributions in Sichuan Province. He specializes in such orientations as construction mechanics and durability of large-scale and complex tunnel engineering, theories of seismic resistance and relieving for tunnel and underground engineering, and tunnel ventilation, disaster prevention and energy conservation. Professor Wang holds such posts as an executive member of the Sub-society of Geotechnical Engineering Information Technology and Its Application of Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, of the Sub-society of Tunnel Engineering of China Highway and Transportation Society(CHTS) and of the Academic Committee of Underground Engineering of Architectural Society of China(ASC), the deputy director of the Select Committee of Tunnel and Underground Space Operation Safety, Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection, and a member of the editorial board for Chinese Journal of Soil and Rock Mechanics, Chinese Journal of Underground Space and Engineering and Journal of Tunnel Construction. He has presided over 150 research projects at national, provincial or ministerial level, scooping 5 National Science and Technology Progress Awards and 60 Science and Technology Progress Awards at provincial or ministerial level. He has authored 10 monographs, served as the chief editor of 3 textbooks, co-edited over 20 technical standards and specifications, published more than 250 papers, and held 30 patents of invention and software copyrights.
Wen Yu-Min - Deputy Dean of the School of Civil Engineering

Wen Yu-Min graduated from SWJTU with a bachelor’s degree in engineering in June 2001 and obtained his master’s degree in engineering from SWJTU in July 2005. He became one of the first batch of counselors with qualifications for recommended postgraduates without sitting the admission examination due to excellence in academic performance and comprehensive qualities in June 2001. He ever worked in the Dean’s Office, the Management Committee on Xipu Campus and the President Office of SWJTU in the following years. With a deep affection for SWJTU and SCE, he has been devoted to the school administration and the management of innovation platforms. He participated in several training sessions for systematic research platform development and management by the Ministry of Transport and received relevant certificates.

Li Tong-Mei graduated with a bachelor’s degree in industrial and civil construction from SWJTU in 1989 and obtained her master’s degree in structural engineering from SWJTU in 1996. She has been working in SWJTU since 1989.

Zhou Xi was Born in 1984, and got graduate degree of Southwest Jiaotong University, Master's degree, and PhD in ideological and political education. Participated in work in 2009, he served as civil engineering college counselors, League committee secretary, Xiapu campus party branch deputy secretary, student working group deputy group leader, college office director and other posts.
Gou Hong-Ye -Deputy Dean of the School of Civil Engineering

With deep love for education, Gou Hong-Ye offers at least two professional courses for undergraduates each year. She directed 1 project by “Bilingual Teaching Research Fund” of SWJTU, 2 university-level undergraduate education and teaching research and reform projects, 1 university-level “Bilingual Teaching Demonstration Course Development” project, 1 project of (16th) Open Programme of Key Laboratories of SWJTU, 1 project by National Natural Science Foundation, 1 key Science and Technology Project of the Ministry of Railways, 1 project under the Research and Development Programme of China Railway Construction Corporation, 1 project under the Hundred Young Teachers Programme financed by the Fundamental Research Funds for Universities under the direct administration of Ministry of Education, 1 science and technology innovation project, about 20 research projects initiated and financed by government departments or authorities and 30 by enterprises or public institutions. She published 2 articles on teaching reform and won the award for Excellent Practice in Undergraduate Education and Teaching Research of SWJTU in the Year of 2015. In addition, she has published more than 45 academic papers as the first author or the corresponding author with 8 of them covered in SCI. Gou Hongye has been granted honorary titles such as Prominent Communist Party Member of SWJTU in the Academic Year of 2011 to 2013, Excellent Worker in Charge of Party Affairs and Advanced Individual of Labor Union in the Academic Year of 2013 to 2014.
Zhan Yulin -Deputy Dean of the School of Civil Engineering

Zhan Yu-Lin’s research expertise is mainly related to the properties of long-term service and seismic prevention of concrete bridges and steel-concrete composite bridges. He holds such posts as a member of the Sub-society of Steel-Concrete Composite Structure of China Steel Construction Society, the deputy director of the Science and Technology Committee of Sub-society of Concrete of Sichuan Provincial Construction Industry Association, a member of ASCE, a supervisor of the SWJTU Branch of ASCE, and a reviewer of such journals as Journal of Bridge Engineering (ASCE), Engineering Structures, Journal of Modern Transportation, China Journal of Highway and Transport, Journal of Southwest Jiaotong University, Journal of Chang an University, Journal of Building Structures and Journal of Changsha University of Science and Technology. He is also a certified safety evaluation engineer, a certified bridge inspection and test engineer, an expert in safety assessment of anti-seismic bridges of Sichuan province and a consultant of Chengdu Railway Bureau. He directed over 20 projects including that initiated and financed by the National Natural Science Foundation. He authored 1 monograph and 1 local standard and published over 40 academic articles. He won the Second Prize of the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievement Award of Sichuan Province, the Third Prize of China Construction Science and Technology Award by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the Second Prize of Excellent Practice of Teaching Reform of SWJTU. So far, Zhan Yu-Lin has supervised a total of 20 postgraduates (including 4 on-job students) and assisted in supervising 3 doctoral students and 15 postgraduates.
Chen Rong -Deputy Dean of the School of Civil Engineering

Chen Rong has been devoted to the teaching and research in track structure and dynamics of high-speed and heavy-load railway and urban rail transit. Over 30 achievements were granted intellectual property rights, including 22 patents of invention. He authored 2 monographs, translated 2 books and published over 100 papers (including 60 as the first author or the corresponding author). Among them, 20 articles are included in SCI and 50 by EI. He won 7 first prizes of or above the Provincial (Ministerial) Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievement Award and 2016 State Technological Invention Award as a main participant.
