“1+2+3”
High-level Research Platform System
The School of Civil Engineering (SCE) of Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) has built a “1+2+3” High-level Research Platform System and a “1+1+1” National Experimental Teaching Platform System.
The “1+2+3” key research platform system covers the first-level disciplines of civil engineering, including ONE national research platform—“National Engineering Laboratory in Geohazard Prevention Technology for Land Transportation”, TWO ministerial-level platforms—“Ministry of Education (MOE) Key Laboratory of High-speed Railway Engineering” and “MOE Key Laboratory of Transportation Tunnel Engineering”, and THREE provincial-level key platforms—“Key Laboratory of Seismic Engineering of Sichuan Province”, “Highway Engineering Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province” and “Key Laboratory of Wind Engineering of Sichuan Province”. The “1+1+1” National Experimental Teaching Platform System includes TWO national physical teaching centers of civil engineering—“National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Civil Engineering” and “SWJTU-China-Railway-Eryuan Experimental Demonstration Center for International Students”, and ONE National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center of Civil Engineering. At present, the laboratory platforms of SCE rank among the top in universities of China in terms of quantity and quality, with the hardware facilities reaching the top level of the country, having rich research results and great academic influence, which lay a solid foundation for SCE’s basic research and technological innovation.
