The School of Civil Engineering Wins 9 Titles in 2020 Sichuan Province Science and Technology Progress Awards

The 2020 Sichuan Province Science and Technology Award Conference was held in Jinniu Hotel, Chengdu on the morning of March 17th, 2021. Winners of the 2020 Sichuan Science and Technology (Sci-tech) Progress Awards were announced at the meeting. Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) won 16 Awards. Among them, 9 projects of the School of Civil Engineering have won the Awards, accounting for 56% of the total number of SWJTU. In addition, two achievements hosted by the university received the first prize of Sci-tech Progress Awards. One achievement for participation earned the second prize, six achievements the third. A total of 14 winners were awarded. The specific awards are as follows:

The “Wind Field Characteristics, Wind Resistance Key Technology and Engineering Application of Bridges in Western Long-span Mountain Areas” hosted by Professor Li Yongle, with other participants including Zhang Mingjin, Tang Haojun and Ma Cunming, secured the first prize of Sci-Tech Progress.

The “Theory, Technology and Application of Digital Construction of Large and Complex Steel Structures” presided by Professor Yu Zhixiang, together with Zhao Shichun and Qi Xin, carried away with the first prize of Sci-Tech Progress.

Professor Zhang Zhiqiang participated in “Close-spaced Tunnel Construction Key Technology in Sensitive and Complex Environment of the City”, winning the second prize of Sci-Tech Progress.

Professor Ren Juanjuan participated in “Automated Production Technology for High-speed RailCRTSⅢ Ballastless Track Slab by Pre-tensioning Method”, winning the third prize of Sci-Tech Progress.

Professor Xiao Shiguo participated in “Key Technology and Application of Disaster Risk Reduction of Highway Construction in High-intensity Deep Canyon in Mountain Area”, winning the third prize of Sci-Tech Progress.

Guo Rui participated in “Rapid Update and Construction of Complete Sets of Technology of Complicated Confined Space of Municipal Engineering”, winning the third prize of Sci-Tech Progress.

Professor Chen Shougen participated in “Key Technology for Construction of the Large Underground Oil Storage Caverns”, winning the third prize of Sci-Tech Progress.

SuQiwang participated in “The BIM Technological Innovation and Standardization Application in the Whole Process of Construction”, winning the third prize of Sci-Tech Progress.

Professor Pan Yi participated in “Research and Application of Key Technology of Building Foundation Seismic Isolation in High Intensity Area”, winning the third prize of Sci-Tech Progress.
