The closing ceremony of the 8th Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) Student Culture and Arts Festival and the final judging of the poetry recitation competition "Chanting the Splendor of the Country" was successfully held at 16:30 on November 1 at x2128 on Xipu Campus. The event was sponsored by the Student Affairs Office of the Party Committee, and was organized by the Group Building Center and Student Union of School of Materials Science and Engineering (SMSE), with special thanks to China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd. The judges and guests attending this event were Gan Lin, Secretary of the Party Branch of Mao Yisheng Honors College, Zhang Qingwei and Huang Yuan from the Office of National Base of Cultural Quality Education for College Students, Liu Liang, instructor of Radio Station, Wu Rong, Secretary of the Library Youth League Branch, Huang Deming, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of SMSE, Xu Huan, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, and Liang Yujia, the counselor.

A total of 18 classes and more than 550 people registered for the preliminary round. After fierce competition, the Sixth Youth League Branch, grade 2020 of SCE successfully advanced to the final round and competed with the other eight teams for the champion. To implement the school’s epidemic prevention and control requirements, the recitation works were recorded off-line and were judged online. The nine participating classes entered the Student Activity Center in the order of drawing lots for the rehearsal and the recording of their works On October 30. The judges and guests watched attentively the recordings and commented on the videos of each class.

The students of SWJTU saluted the prosperity and splendor of the motherland with poems, eulogized the great achievements of China, sang praises to the dedicators of the Chinese nation on the road to rejuvenation, and sang the main theme of the university and school culture. Class 6, grade 2020 of SCE gave full play to its independent initiative and sang “China in the Lights” with the theme of “Red Heart to the Party” in smooth guitar accompaniment. They revisited the glorious history of the Party and praised the great achievements of the Party, which not only helped them achieve the champion, but also demonstrate the features of a good team.

Finally, Class 6 of grade 2020 won the championship. Hereafter, the closing ceremony of the 8th SWJTU Student Culture and Arts Festival and the poetry recitation competition of “Chanting the Splendor of the Country” were successfully concluded.
