AcceptanceEvaluationMeetingof National Key R&D Program “Safety Technologyfor Regional Integrated Transportation Infrastructure” Successfully Held

The acceptance evaluation meeting of the first project of national key research and development (R&D) program, “Regional Integrated Transportation Infrastructure Safety Technology” (NO. 2016YFC0802200), led by Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) was successfully launched on December 5 and 6, at Conference Room 301 of the Key Laboratory of Transportation Tunnel Engineering, Ministry of Education. The performance evaluation committee of the research subjects consists of 11 experts, inclusive of Professor Deng Jianhui from Sichuan University, Researcher He Siming from Chengdu Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Li Tianbin from Chengdu University of Technology, Professor Wu Xiaojun from China Railway Academy Co., Ltd., Professor Liu Xinrong from Chongqing University, Professor Liu Qiao from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, etc. More than 70 people attended this meeting, including the project teams, research subject leaders, liaisons and key members.

The project was chaired by Professor He Chuan of our university, which was jointly undertaken by 30 organizations comprising institutions of higher education, research institutions, design & construction and construction administration organizations in China. A total of ten subtopics were included in the project. Specifically, subject 1 was undertaken by SWJTU and Professor He Chuan in charge; subject 2 by China Railway Major Bridge Reconnaissance & Design Institute Co., Ltd. and Academician Qin Shunquan in charge; subject 3 by CCCC First Highway Consultants Co., Ltd. and Professor-Level Senior Engineer Zhang Liujun in charge; subject 4 by Tianjin University and Professor Wang Yuanzhan in charge; subject 5 by China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group Co., Ltd. and Professor-Level Senior Engineer Xiao Mingqing in charge; subject 6 by Beijing Jiaotong University and Professor Mao Jun in charge; subject 7 by Shijiazhuang Tiedao University and Professor Wang Hailin in charge; subject 8 by Chang’an University and Professor Xie Yongli in charge; subject 9 by Southwest Jiaotong University and Professor Mou Ruifang in charge; subject 10 by Sichuan Tibetan Area Expressway Co., Ltd. and Professor-Level Senior Engineer Li Yonglin in charge.

The ten subtopic groups gave reports on the research background and content, major findings, organization and management, research indicators, main innovations and typical achievements, etc. All subjects were questioned and discussed in depth by the experts. They justified the technical route and research methods of each subtopic, confirmed that the tasks specified in the previous proposals were completed and the technical assessment goals were achieved, and eventually determined that the ten subtopics were accepted. Finally, Professor He Chuan, the project manager, said that the project participants would summarize the research results based on the experts’ advice and further strengthen the promotion and application of the results, so as to contribute to China’s regional integrated transportation infrastructure for its safety, longer service lifetimes and more satisfactory service.
