Participation of the Delegation Formed by Teachers and Students from Department of Geotechnical Engineering in the 3rd National Symposium on Transportation Geotechnical Engineering
The 3rd National Symposium on Transportation Geotechnical Engineering was successfully held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province from November 28 to 29, 2020, sponsored by Chinese institution of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering – China Civil Engineering Society (CISMGE - CCES) and organized by Southeast University and Jiangsu Society for Geotechnical Mechanics and Engineering (JSSGME). The symposium was held in a combination of offline participation on site and online participation by live streaming.
As the affiliated institute of Professional Committee of Transportation Geotechnical Engineering, the Department of Geotechnical Engineering of School of Civil Engineering (SCE) sent 11 teachers and 12 students pursuing their master''s or doctoral degrees to attend the symposium under the leadership of Associate Dean Fu Haiying and Professor Ma Jianlin, Standing Vice Chairman of the Professional Committee of Transportation Geotechnical Engineering.
On behalf of Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), Professor Zhang Yingbin gave an invited report onPreliminary Study on the Disaster Mechanism and Prevention and Control of High and Steep Slope in the Active Fault Zone, which attracted great attention from the participating experts. Associate Professor Li Qionglin, Lecturer Li Dejian, as well as three doctoral students, Rao Yunkang, Xiang Chenlin and Liu Jing also gave reports at sub-venues, showing the latest research results of the discipline of Geotechnical Engineering of the department.
After the symposium, the teachers of Department of Geotechnical Engineering visited the School of Transportation Test Center of Southeast University on invitation and had closer exchanges with the researchers of Professor Liu Songyu''s team.
