Perfecting Every Lesson, Ensuring Teaching Quality—the Priority of the Teaching Inspection Carried Out by the School of Civil Engineering in the Spring Semester

On March 1st, 2021, Southwest Jiaotong University formally began its first class in the second semester of 2020-2021 academic year. To implement the requirements of regular epidemic prevention and control stipulated by the Ministry of Education, the Education Department of Sichuan Province and the school, and to ensure the smooth progress of the teaching work in this new semester, teachers led by Pu Qianhui (Dean) and Fu Haiying (Vice Dean) of the School of Civil Engineering (SCE), made an inspection of the School’s teaching work for undergraduates and postgraduates at 7:45 on March 1st, having an overall scrutiny of the aspects including teachers’ attendance, their teaching preparation, students’ attendance, class discipline, teaching management and epidemic prevention and control.

According to the inspection, the teaching work, teaching operation and support of the School all went smoothly, with the concerted efforts of different departments in SCE. All teachers made good preparations and dedicated themselves to the teaching work of the new semester with great responsibility and enthusiasm, presenting clear lectures with high spirits. A solid foundation has been laid for implementing this term’s teaching work and ensuring the quality, with students’ high attendance, good class discipline, active interaction between teaches and students.

In this semester, the SCE will strengthen daily inspection of all teaching tasks by teaching supervisors’ random visit to classrooms, to perfect the teaching system, ensure its normal operation and improve teaching quality.
