The approaching of Chinese New Year was bringing a strong festive atmosphere. In order to maintain epidemic prevention and control and life security of students staying in school during the winter vacation, the School of Civil Engineering (SCE) extended Chinese New Year greetings to the undergraduates staying in school during the winter vacation on the morning of January 28, providing much more care to the students and developing a wonderful festival atmosphere.

Zhou Xi, deputy secretary of the party committee of the SCE, Liu Ping, secretary of the Youth League Committee and counselor of grade 2021, and Fu Zhenzhen, deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee and counselor of grade 2020, visited Juanchengzhai building No. 13, the centralized dormitory for undergraduates, and presented an elaborate New Year gift bag themed with “Celebrating the Chinese New Year with Red Civils” to everyone, which included a box of nuts, an epidemic prevention package (including 2 packages of New Year-themed masks, a package of disinfectant wipes, and a bottle of hand sanitizer), as well as a book “The Art of Learning: a journey in the pursuit of excellence”. In addition, there were small lanterns, "Fu" characters, Little Red Civil dolls and other small gifts, which were used to create a happy and vibrant festival mood.

During the visit, Deputy Secretary Zhou Xi had an in-depth conversation with students, about their study, life and meals during the winter vacation, telling everyone to have a good attitude, keep a balance between study and life, make use of the winter vacation to enhance themselves, exercise to keep fit, so as to spend a meaningful holiday.

Liu Ping and Fu Zhenzhen presented their sincere wishes in New Year and told students to maintain self-protection in a scientific way, strictly abide by the rules and regulations of the school and the relevant requirements of epidemic prevention and control, take care of their safety and valuables, and keep in constant contact with parents and counselors during their stay in school.

The students thanked the leaders and teachers of the School for their care and visit, whose kindness was also appreciated by students and made them feel warm despite being away from families. They promised to observe the disciplines of the school and act in epidemic prevention, making good plans on study and life for a fulfilling winter vacation.
