MOE Key Laboratory of High-speed Railway Engineering
The MOE Key Laboratory of High-speed Railway Engineering was approved for construction at the end of 2008 and passed the acceptance inspection at the end of 2011. The laboratory area is 2,000 m2, and the total value of equipment assets is 16 million yuan.
The laboratory has four research fields: High-speed and heavy-haul track structure and track dynamics, the design theory of works under track of high-speed railway and structure technology, high-speed railway route planning and design, high-speed railway infrastructure testing and disaster prevention. There are 16 research areas.
At present, the laboratory has two platforms: the national teaching platform of "railway engineering course team" led byProfessor Yi Sirong, a national outstanding teacher, and the scientific research and innovation team of Sichuan province of high-speed railway track organized byProfessor Wang Ping, a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. It has also built a top scientific research team led by top experts such asAcademician Du Yanliang with double titles, Professor Yi SirongandProfessor Wang Ping.
Since 2008,the laboratoryhas made a series of significant research results, which has great academic influence on the relevant research fields. The laboratory has undertaken more than40national projects such as 973, 863 and National Natural Science Foundation of China, and more than60provincial and ministerial projects; the researchers have wonthreenational science and technology awards, more than20provincial and ministerial science and technology awards; there are about50SCI papers, about300EI papers,eightmonographs, more than10textbooks, over40authorized invention patents, and more than80utility model patents.
There are 45 researchers (including 19 doctoral supervisors and 28 postgraduate supervisors) and two full-time laboratory personnel in the laboratory. Among the laboratory researchers, there are two academicians with double titles, one winner of National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, one national outstanding teacher, three winners of government subsidies of the State Council, two New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education, one outstanding teacher of Sichuan province, two experts with outstanding contributions of Sichuan province, and six academic and technological leading researchers of Sichuan province. The lab has a national teaching team of railway engineering and a scientific and technological innovation team of Sichuan province of "theory and safety service technology of high-speed railway track structure".
With the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative and the national strategy of "going out" of the high-speed railway, the MOE Key Laboratory of High-speed Railway Engineering will further concentrate on the major basic science and frontier technologies, carry out strategic, prospective, comprehensive basic research and technological innovation, strive to improve the original innovation ability of high-speed railway, and serve the national strategy and industry technological progress of the rail transit development.

The system is mainly used to study the static and dynamic characteristics of track, subgrade and foundation under low temperature and simulate the rolling fatigue of track structure under train load.
